Swedish VIPs to open rally

The Swedish Prime Minister and a member of the country's royal family will be guests of honour at the Rally Sweden opening ceremony on Wednesday night.

The Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt and HRH Prince Carl Philip [pictured] will open the rally at the head-to Super Special Stage in Karlstad - the event’s first competitive test.
Prince Carl Philip is no stranger to rallying. The 34-year-old got behind the wheel himself in 2013 when he drove a Porsche 911 through the Rally Sweden stages ahead of the historic class cars.
This year, as honorary guest, the Prince will officiate at both the opening and prize-giving ceremonies.
