Since Sweden all the manufacturer teams have been hard at work preparing for a very different challenge at next week's Rally Guanajuato Mexico (8 – 10 March).
The season's third round is the first true gravel event of the year and turns up the heat with scorching summer temperatures in contrast to the wintery Monte-Carlo and Sweden.
Mexico is a rally that brings the unique challenges of high altitude, intense heat and punishing gravel stages.
And with manufacturer teams banned from testing outside Europe, most of the pre-event prep has been carried out on representative roads in Spain.
Thanks to a dedicated team of WRC spotters, we can see what they have been up to.
M-Sport Ford World Rally Team carried out a two-day test in the hills north of Barcelona with drivers Elfyn Evans and Teemu Suninen. Watch a clip here courtesy of @dani_molinero
Citroën Racing drivers Sebastien Ogier and Esapekka Lappi tested for two days each in the south of Spain, in conditions close to those expected in León.
Toyota Gazoo Racing and Hyundai Motorsport were in Almería province. The clips below show Dani Sordo at the wheel of Hyundai's i20, and Jari-Matti Latvala in Toyota's Yaris.
